Falcons' Mike Hughes: Posts sevens tackles in Week 1
4m ago
Hughes registered seven solo tackles during Sunday's 18-10 loss to the Steelers.
Hughes was Atlanta's slot cornerback last season, but he's shifted outside this year, operating as the No. 2 CB opposite A.J. Terrell. Hughes was briefly benched for Clark Phillips in Week 1, and Kevin King, who was up from the practice squad, also saw two defensive snaps, so it's unclear how safe Hughes' starting role is. Regardless, Hughes played 57 of Atlanta's 68 defensive snaps and will have some IDP value as long as he's on the field that often.

Giants' Theo Johnson: Dominates tight-end reps Week 1
5m ago
Johnson caught one of four targets for 18 yards against Minnesota in Sunday's Week 1 loss.
It was a rough game for New York's offense as a whole, and Johnson played a part in that, as he dropped two potential catches in the first half and was missed by QB Daniel Jones on another play despite getting open. The pair did connect on an 18-yard pass in the fourth quarter, and the positive news for Johnson's outlook moving forward is that he logged 61 offensive snaps (86 percent of the team's total). That seems to put him ahead of Daniel Bellinger (16 offensive snaps) and Chris Manhertz (20, primarily in two tight-end sets) in the tight-end pecking order, though Johnson will likely need to do a better job of helping the offense in order to maintain that status.

Falcons' Grady Jarrett: Makes presence felt in Week 1
5m ago
Jarrett recorded three tackles (two solo), including 1.5 sacks, during Sunday's 18-10 loss to the Steelers.
Jarrett mustered only 1.5 sacks across eight appearances before tearing his ACL last year, but he's back to full strength and making his presence felt in Atlanta's new-look 3-4 defense. Jarrett recorded a career-high 7.5 sacks in 2019, but since then, he's totaled just 12.5 sacks over his last four seasons.

Falcons' Charlie Woerner: Generates two targets in Week 1
6m ago
Woerner caught one of two targets for four yards during Sunday's 18-10 loss to the Steelers.
Known for his blocking prowess, Woerner isn't expected to be involved in the passing game very often. In four seasons with San Francisco, Woerner caught 11 passes (15 targets) for 120 yards. Starting tight end Kyle Pitts played 54 offensive snaps in Week 1, securing all three of his targets for 26 yards and a TD, while Woerner saw only 23 snaps on offense.

Falcons' Darnell Mooney: Quiet in Falcons debut
8m ago
Mooney caught one of three targets for 15 yards during Sunday's 18-10 loss to the Steelers.
Mooney operated as the No. 2 wideout, playing 53 of 56 offensive snaps. However, Mooney and Drake London (two receptions for 15 yards) were kept quiet, as Ray-Ray McCloud led Atlanta's wideouts in receiving. Mooney's snap share is promising, but the Falcons' offense will need to find their rhythm for Mooney to generate fantasy-relevant numbers. This was Kirk Cousins' first game since his Achilles injury, as the veteran surprisingly didn't see any action during the preseason. Cousins' comfortability in OC Zac Robinson's scheme will likely be the key factor in Mooney's fantasy value this season.

Falcons' Ray-Ray McCloud: Team-high seven targets
9m ago
McCloud caught four of seven targets for 52 yards during Sunday's 18-10 loss to the Steelers. He also returned two kickoffs for 56 yards.
McCloud surprisingly had more targets and receptions than No. 1 wideout Drake London, who finished with two catches on three targets for 15 yards. McCloud played 30 offensive snaps, operating as the WR3 behind London (56) and Darnell Mooney (53). Given his snap share, McCloud isn't likely to lead Atlanta in receiving regularly but should continue to see a handful of targets per game, especially if opposing defenses divert most of their attention to London. McCloud's career-high numbers came in 2021 when playing for the Steelers, totaling 39 receptions (66 targets) for 277 yards. The veteran has caught only one touchdown in his seven-year career.
